How I Set Up My First Speaking Tour

It was 2012. I’d been working a 9-5 job for four years while getting my master’s degree, writing a book and speaking once a month at conferences and colleges. I’d just finished my degree, self-published my book and quit my job, when my dad said, “Tiff, why are you working full-time? Why don’t you quit your job and try traveling and speaking, and just see what happens? After all, you have nothing to loose–you’re single!”

It was the craziest idea. But it felt SO RIGHT.

When God Asked Me to Give $1,000 (That I Didn’t Have) (A Thanksgiving Story)

This is an edited version of an article originally published on Project Inspired–click here to read the original.

I was working out on the treadmill, minding my own business while reading David Platt’s book Radical. And that’s when God dropped the directive into my heart:

“I want you to give $1,000 to your friend’s mission organization.”

I shook my head and squirmed a little inside. That wasn’t God. No way. He knew what my bank account held, and it wasn’t $1K!

New Year, New Team!

by Tiffany Dawn

Hello, friends!

I have to admit, I’ve been a slacker at blogging these past few years. I always want to write, but find myself running out of time — and it’s not just blogging; it’s also my Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. That’s why I have a new team joining me this year.

The close of 2016 was the close of several chapters in my life. I finished my 4-year season of full-time touring. I finished my part-time, temp job from the fall. I started a YouTube channel with weekly Tuesday Girl Talk, which is where I’ve been spending most of my free time.

The beginning of 2017 has also brought some new beginnings!

This week’s mind-blowing gift

Oh my word. Friends.

This week, a new, gorgeous, amazing promo video was gifted to me & “The Insatiable Quest for Beauty” ministry.

This video shares a little bit of my story, and what “The Insatiable Quest for Beauty” ministry is all about.

I. Am. In. Love!!

About Town Films expertly created this 4.5-minute video from about 4 hours of film time shot here in my apartment a few weeks ago. Light the City Network extravagantly sponsored this production, so it could be a gift to this ministry. And a wonderful new friend of mine, Madi, came and shared part of her story in the film, blowing me away.

I am almost beyond words, completely blessed and feeling so, so spoiled and like I could dance and revel in God’s goodness, in this gift.

I just have to share the video with you, because, I absolutely LOVE IT. I hope you enjoy it as well. 🙂

Love, Tiffany

The Unmasked Dance – Poem by Dorissa

The Unmasked Dance

This beautiful poem is written by a young woman I met this Spring named Dorissa. When she shared this with me, I thought it was so beautiful, and asked if I could share it with all of you. It offers hints of a fairytale coupled with learning to love the selves we’ve been given, and learning that we ourselves are lovable just as we are.

In my room ready to be revealed

I look at myself

In the mirror I do not see it

I do not feel pretty

I do not feel beautiful

I see scars in my heart

From past regrets and decisions

Remembering them brings my eyes to water

But I hear the voices

Calling me down to show them myself

I will wear my dress with pride, but with a mask

This is not a masquerade, but still I hide, smile, and put on a show    Continue reading

Valentine’s Weekend

This was our first married Valentine’s Day…and it ended up hilariously different than we expected!

First, I have to give some back story.

20150215_112059Last year was our first Valentine’s Day together. We stayed with my grandparents to celebrate in one of our favorite cities: Austin, TX. We frequented classy restaurants, explored the city in 70-degree weather, and filled our days with shooting lessons and tandem biking in adorable outfits.

It was the exact opposite of this year.

Actually, side note: Last year was the first Valentine’s Day James had ever spent with a girl, and one of the few I’d ever spent with a guy. Most of his Valentine’s Day were spent watching chick flicks with guy friends (for real), and mine were spent watching chick flicks with girl friends.

So of course, I was thinking: Our first married Valentine’s Day is going to be SO romantic.
