10+ fun, free things to do in summer

HAPPY SUMMER!!!!

I hope you had a wonderful fourth of July! I’ve spent the week in the Poconos with my in-laws, and it has been SO FUN. Before getting married, I prayed and prayed that God would provide great in-laws — and He totally answered that prayer with a yes! SO THANKFUL.

Now that we’re into July, summer is REALLY here. School’s out; the weather is warm here in the Northeast; and it’s time for some fun activities!

But…what do you do??

I don’t know about you, but I’m always looking for fun, free things to do in summer.

So here are a few of my favorite ideas — in the video and listed below!

And please comment YOUR ideas in the comments for an idea swap! 🙂

  1. Feed the ducks!
  2. Geocaching! (Basically like being a spy in your neighborhood…but not.)
  3. Homemade ice cream tour! (Not quite free…but close!)
  4. Camp in your yard!
  5. Walks with friends!
  6. Cooking class! (Sometimes these are offered free in the community or at certain stores.)
  7. Go stargazing!
  8. Go picnicking! (Especially at sunset…and with cold beverages in mason jars!)
  9. Hike! (Which basically goes without saying…)
  10. DIY projects! (Tie-dying or flower drying…etc.)
  11. Swim!
  12. Progressive dinners!
  13. And watch the video above for one more hilarious idea right at the end… 😂

Tiffany Dawn has come up with some great ideas for enjoying summer on a budget. Saving money doesn’t have to be dull! You can have a good time without spending a ton of cash… sometimes without spending any at all. Tiffany Dawn has come up with some great ideas for having fun while saving money. Some of these ideas are ones I am sure you have seen many times before, but hey, who doesn’t need a reminder now and then? Watch her video for a really off the wall idea she includes at the end – it really gets you thinking outside the box. What ideas do you have? She came up with this great thought of doing an idea swap. Comment on this post and/or her own to share some of your own great ideas with other people. The longer the list can get, the more things we all have to do!

Here ‘s an idea of my own, all thoroughly tested by yours truly and proven to be interesting experiences:
    – Toe paint! We’ve all finger painted, but how many of us have toe painted? This isn’t free, but the dollar store (or your child’s bedroom) will have everything you need. You may get a foot cramp or two, but couple this with a bottle of wine and you and your friends are in for a good laugh or two.

    What ideas do you have?
