Book Review: A Broken Kind of Beautiful

coverI was inexplicably drawn to the title of this book, as I may never cease to wonder at the way God turns brokenness into beauty.

Christy-award finalist and Carol winner Katie Ganshert penned the beautiful story of a world-famous model, who is falling apart underneath her perfect facade. Loved by many, and yet truly loved by no one, she was rejected by her father, used by those close to her, and now stands hidden behind a self-built wall of “perfect.”

With my passion for girls’ issues, A Broken Kind of Beautiful sounded exactly like the kind of novel I wanted to read. And it was. With insightful thoughts on beauty, becoming oneself, the fear of falling in love, and redemption, Katie draws you into the world of the kind of woman many girls idolize, draws you beneath the surface, and helps you look deeper into your own self.

Check it out! I think you’ll love it too. Here you can read Chapter One, find more information, or check out author Katie Ganshert’s bio and other books!

Note: I received this book for free from Blogging for Books for this review.
